Dalila Hernández-Ramírez, M.A. Founder/Instructor

Dalila Hernández-Ramírez was born and raised in Oaxaca, Mexico. At the age of 15 she moved to Napa to attend Vintage High School. She then graduated from Napa Valley College and transferred to Sonoma State University where she completed her Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and then her Master of Arts in Spanish.

Since her graduation from high school, she has been involved in the education field in multiple positions. She started as a high school tutor and mentor. After her graduation from Sonoma State, she worked at Napa Valley College. She then became employed as a perinatal educator and translator at the local Community Health Clinic Ole. Utilizing her scope of talents, she teaches GED, ESL and Private Spanish lessons. One of her passions is curriculum development, a component of her current jobs.

She decided to found Español in the Valley after completing her Masters when she realized how rapidly her private practice was growing.

As the founder of Español in the Valley she supervises and oversees the classes and services offered. She personally will provide orientation, develop an individualized plan and supervise the progress of each student.

Mayela Hernández, Teacher

Mayela Hernández moved from Mexico to the States in 1997 after completing her high school education. She attended Napa Valley College to receive her credential as an Early Childhood Educator.
Mayela has been a preschool teacher since 2001. At the present time, she is the Site Supervisor for a before/after school program in Napa.  She supervises the daily operation of the center by implementing the protocols, policies and procedures to keep the center running according to state regulations.  She also supervises 4 other teachers.  Mayela has experience in working with children from the age of 3 thru the middle school years.

Her duties at Español in the Valley include teaching classes and curriculum development for Early Childhood Spanish Instruction. She is also in charge of developing and implementing the policies that state laws mandate in order that your child will receive the most up to date instruction in a safe and caring environment.

Veronica Hernández, Teacher

Veronica understands what it’s like to be a student in Napa. She attended Vichy Elementary School, Silverado Middle School and graduated from Vintage High School. Following her high school graduation, she attended UC Davis where she graduated with a double major in Art Studio and Spanish. She then enrolled in a Masters Program in Spanish at Sonoma State, with her expected graduation date to be July 2012.  She has lived in Italy, where she exposed herself to the “immersion” experience while learning Italian.  As a skilled artist, she brings her passion for art into her Spanish Instruction.  She has experience working with elementary, middle and high school students.

Her duties at Español in the Valley include teaching classes, designing bulletins and coordinating/directing special events with our students.
